Blackmores Australia have halted trading on the ASX pending an announcement regarding its half yearly results and outlook for the remainder of the year. This has been tied to a dry up in the lucrative ‘suitcase trade’ which sees tourists stock up on bulk volumes of vitamins in Australia before returning home. This highlights the affects the Coronavirus is having also on the wider tourism sector as analyst expect that the Crown, Star groups as well as SeaLink Travel will all start feeling the economic pinch.

The real impact of Coronavirus for most organisations is likely going to be financial not people focused. Organisations should consider their contingency plans for supply chain interruption. Also consider drafting a stakeholder communications plan and gathering detailed stakeholder lists.
No new countries have reported new cases.
Ausgrid are reporting that power has been restored to 79,000 customers as the clean up continues, however parts of Sydney and NSW may still be without power until the end of the week.
The So What
Consider the impacts to both people and operations if your sites are going to be without power for the rest of the week. Have a look at your denial of access to site response plan, can staff work remotely? What essential services might be out of action? Do you need to communicate with stakeholders? Which ones? These are some of the considerations that might need to be addressed.

Toll Logistics posted an update on its website yesterday saying that the recovery continues however
“The majority of Toll’s internal networks and user access are now operational.
Our Global Express business, which includes our parcel delivery service, continues to operate with a combination of both manual and automated processes. A key priority is to bring our booking and tracking platform (MyToll) back online. We expect customers to be able to use this platform for some services towards the end of the week as we progressively roll out the full functionality of the platform.“Toll Logistics
